HOW TOO

HOW TOO is a live class that helps photographers connect to their bodies, their craft, their clients and their business in order to create the work that speaks directly to their why.

Through the 200 page beautifully designed PDF, twice weekly Zoom classes and an online community, you will be encouraged, inspired and challenged.

The course also includes four behind the scenes videos that show you exactly how I interact with clients and the photos that come from those moments.

“I haven't even been apart of a course that really focused on the artist like this one. Without going too far spiritually or structurally, Rachel has a way about her that helps you understand yourself and gives you permission to be you as a person and artist. The way she sees your work and the insights that she shares are beyond compare. She really cares from her soul and gives so much.”

“Rachel's How Too should be renamed "How Deep."How deep do you want to go with the discussion, materials, and community she has created with this course? I have yet to bottom out. Her workbook is something I will be returning to again and again. Just as my relationship with my body changes year after year, so does my relationship with the work I am creating. Rachel's prompts for self-reflection on embodiment and the art of making photographs have helped me shift towards healing and fulfillment in both.

Will I get individual feedback on my work?

You will get feedback on work that you share with the community, either during live classes or to the Facebook group. The hope is that everyone will get to benefit from each other’s feedback and be able to apply those ideas and principles to their own work.

Does the course include assignments?

Yes, there are three assignments (with deadlines) that will have class time dedicated to discussing and sharing. In addition, the workbook is chocked full of more prompts, which should help you to think through your work and create in new ways.

Is this just for family photographers?

All of the behind the scenes videos are of family sessions, but I believe that the course goes beyond family photography work and can be applied to anyone who photographs human beings.

What is the time commitment?

There are two 90 minute weekly classes, plus three assignments and an online community. Like most learning experiences, you will get more if you are able to devote more time. I would say 5-7 hours a week feels about right.

How long will I have access to the course materials?

The workbook will be available to download and you will have access to the recorded Zoom calls and behind the scenes videos for six months via the Teachable website.
